On October 22, theSixth China-Russia High-Level Forum on Comprehensive Strategic Coordination in the New Era was held at the Far Eastern Federal University of Russia. This forum is co-sponsored by Heilongjiang University, the Institute of Russian, Eastern European and Central Asian Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), Far Eastern Federal University of Russia, and the Institute of China andContemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ICCA RAS).And itwas jointlyorganized by the Provincially and Ministerially Co-constructedCollaborative Innovation Center for China-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Coordination, the Russia Research Institute of Heilongjiang University (Center for Russian Language Literature and CultureStudies),the China Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences - Far Eastern Federal University in Russia, the editorial departments ofAcademic Journal of Russian Studies and Seeking Truth. More than 100 representatives from Chinese and Russian government agencies,institutions of higher education and scientific research institutions were invited toparticipate in the conference.
At the opening ceremony,representatives ofuniversities, government agencies and scientific research institutions deliveredtheirspeeches respectively. The theme of this forum is“Outlook onSecurity and Development in Northeast Asia:The Perspective of China and Russia”. Experts attending theforumcarried out discussions around topics mainlyfocusing on thegreatsignificance andimplementation pathways of regional security in Northeast Asia, the construction of China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor, the cooperation prospects forChina andRussia Far East International Advanced Development Cooperation Zone, the cooperation of the China NortheastandRussia Far East Strategic Grand Corridor, the China NortheastandRussia Far East digital economy cooperation, and the China NortheastandRussia Far East cultural cooperation.
During the forum, Yu Wenxiu talked with Evgeny E. Vlasov (叶夫根尼·叶夫根耶),vicepresident of Far Eastern Federal University. They exchanged views on the in-depth cooperation between the two universities in talent cultivation, regional and countries studies, and commercialization of scientific and technological achievements.
The year 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Russia, and opens the 2024-2025 China-Russia Years of Culture. Thishigh-levelforum has built a good platform for communication and dialogue between the political circles and academe of China and Russia. It has promoted Sino-Russian humanistic exchanges and pragmatic cooperation between China and Russia in various fields.
