On October 30, the International Energy Catalysis and Conversion Sub-Forum of the 2024 International Industry-University-Research-Application Cooperation Conference was held in Harbin. The venue was jointly hosted by the Key Laboratory of Functional Inorganic Materials Chemistry of the Ministry of Education, the College of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Materials, the Science and Technology Department, the Key Construction and Development Office, and the National International Joint Research Center for Catalytic Technology of Heilongjiang University. Professors Jing Liqiang and Xu Hui from Heilongjiang University jointly served as the chairpersons of this sub-forum. With the theme of “Low-carbon Energy and Energy Storage Technology”, 10 world-renowned scientists from China and Russia were invited to conduct in-depth discussions and exchanges on the future direction and key technologies in the field of energy catalysis and conversion. Vice President Yu Wenxiu, along with the relevant persons in charge of the Key Laboratory of Functional Inorganic Materials Chemistry, Ministry of Education and the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Materials attended the conference. A total of more than 200 international joint training graduate supervisors and graduate students from Heilongjiang University, Harbin Engineering University, and others participated in this branch venue online and offline.
The opening ceremony of the branch venue was presided over by Xu Yingming, deputy dean of the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Materials. Vice president Yu Wenxiu, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, expressing her hope to work with the experts to showcase the latest research results, conduct extensive and in-depth exchanges, and effectively promote the development of the field of energy catalysis and conversion.
Ten distinguished scientists from China and Russia in the field of energy catalysis and transformation delivered ten keynote speeches on the design and application of new materials in photocatalysis, photoluminescence, electrocatalysis, and water pollution control. At the same time, experts at the meeting also had in-depth discussions and exchanges with teachers and students on key scientific issues in the field of energy catalysis and transformation.
This sub-forum focused on the key challenges and latest advancements in the field of energy catalysis and transformation. By facilitating productive in-depth exchanges, further promoting Sino-Russian communication and cooperation, strengthening new models of international mentorship. Which enhance the international influence of Heilongjiang University and its chemistry discipline, and recognize the significant importance for the development of disciplines and the transformation of scientific outcomes at Heilongjiang University.
